Dr. Russel Bechtloff began practicing general dentistry in 1971 with a goal of providing quality dentistry to the general population. In 1988 he transitioned to Pediatric Dentistry focusing on the specialized needs of children, with an emphasis on orthodontics. He is affectionately known as “Dr. B” to his young patients and Simply Beautiful Smiles was proud to welcome his, “Dr. B For Kids, Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics” practice (Langhorne, PA) to our family of practices in 2016.
Dr. Bechtloff is a graduate of Temple University School of Dentistry and was also a Resident in Pediatric Dentistry at Temple University/St. Christopher’s Hospitals in Philadelphia, where he continues to hold a Staff position. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences degree from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA and was the winner of the John Shankweiler Science Award at Temple University. Other Awards include the John Kolmar Medicine Award and the James Society Award for Outstanding Performance in Pathology & Histopathology
Dr. Bechtloff is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Functional Orthodontics and the American Orthodontic Society.
Dr. B has always taken a strong interest in the local community, supporting local charities on a personal level. He is a classical pianist and focuses on local education about music and art, presenting programs and assemblies in elementary schools in the Langhorne, PA area. He has served as President of the Newtown, PA Chamber Orchestra for the past two years and for the past six years has directed a free children’s classical concert called, “Kids Connect to the Classics” for elementary school students. His favorite composer is Beethoven. Dr. B is also involved in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Trenton, NJ.
Dr. Bechtloff is a native of Freeland, Pennsylvania. He lives in the community with his family and his dog, Jackson.
